Sverdlovsk city was originally named Yekaterinburg in honor to the Tsar Peter the great's wife Catherine I, but on 1924, after the russian empire became a socialist state the city of Yekaterinburg was renamed after soviet politician Yakov Sverdlov to Sverdlovsk, yet again, on 1991 it was reversed to their original name of Yekaterinburg.
