A short term shelter. The hut provides protection against the weather and provides little rest bonus. It is cheap to make and only requires an axe.
It is advised to craft one until a tent can be acquired. Recommended to use along with a fire since the hut itself only gives 25% rest bonus, while fire gives 50% bonus.
The hut won´t protect you from radiation.
