- The letters after fermentation types are Roman numerals. They represent how long the wine has been aged (II is for two years old wine, V is five years old, X ten years old, and so on).
- As any other items that have multiple stages of transformations, such as meat to rotten meat to disappearing (in this case from Homemade wine I to Homemade wine II, for example), items can only have one stage of transformation when left alone. So, a player cannot simply sleep 2 years to get from Homemade wine I to Homemade wine III, as it will stay in Homemade wine II with 1 year more to go when the player checks again.
